Beliefs

This page summarizes our shared beliefs about the essential elements of the Christian faith.

Our Bible: The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God, and it alone is our ultimate guide, sufficient for faith and practice.

Our Sovereign God: God is a Person eternally existing as a Trinity in unity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three Persons and yet one God.

Our Savior: Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God. Born of a virgin, He became a sinless man to redeem us. He is true God and true man. After dying on the cross to pay the penalty our sins deserve, He rose bodily from the grave, ascended to heaven and lives today at the right hand of the Father interceding for us and building His church.

Our Sins: Although created in the image of God, man fell through sin, bringing physical death and also spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God. All of mankind is a fallen race with an inherited sin nature and therefore unable to please God or to attain eternal life apart from belief in Christ.

Our Salvation: The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross, bearing God’s wrath upon sin. Substituting Himself for us, He died the death we deserve for our sins, thus satisfying God’s holy justice and allowing God to bless us with all spiritual blessings including forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. Christ rose from the dead assuring that we who believe in His Person and work on the cross will also be resurrected to newness of life.

Our Church: The local church is a body of believers baptized by water, indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and in fellowship with one another. We are united for worship, for edification and for service to Christ, which includes the evangelization of lost souls in our community and in distant countries.

Our Blessed Hope: Christ will soon come again to take all those who believe in Him up to be with Him in heaven. Unbelievers however will remain behind to experience Tribulation, but after that Christ will return to earth to establish the promised millennial Kingdom. After that, unbelievers of all ages will stand before God in judgment and be cast into the lake of fire to be forever separated from God and in torment, while believers will experience unspeakable joy for eternity in God’s glorious presence.
