The Journey – Part 10

The Journey

Dear Beloved Church Family,

My first leg surgery took place approximately 3pm July 14 and was led by Trauma Surgeon Dr. Carlos Sagebien, MD and team. When I finally awoke, I discovered metal rods protruding out of my leg – what is better described as an external fixator. It was designed to help hold the leg in place and allow the swelling to go down until I would go for the second surgery in York. Again, I was extremely thankful that God provided a first class trauma surgeon just when I needed one!

But I failed to tell you about my younger sister, Susan. Susan wanted to sit with me as I waited for surgery. Only 2 years ago she sat with my Mom in the same hospital as Mom was dying. It was emotionally difficult for my family to return to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center with so many bad memories! Susan would later take time off from work to sit with me here in Dover bringing me loads of gluten free treats from Trader Joes. Through this Romans 8:28 event, I was and am able to spend some quality time with my extended family! Much needed time. Back to another issue.

I have been overly critical of the medical profession. July 13th forced me to repent! I’ll tell you more later!

Hey – don’t wait until a disaster to reconnect with friends and family! Who might you need to call/text today? Think about being the one to reach out.

More to come
